Cole's lips twitched in something that was almost a smile and his other hand came to cover Krem's, holding his.
His nails were cleaner than they used to be. Not clean, he was too active for miracles, but cleaner. He stroked over the back of Krem's hand.
"I nearly came up here a couple of times, then I remembered you weren't here, so I didn't. But you're happier now. I like that."
