Cole didn't worry, because if it was serious or bad, if Krem needed him, he'd know. So he waited, patiently, because things would come around again.
And then he went to the Hinterlands for a while. It wasn't a big thing, just a small group going down to collect necessities for the herbalists and smiths. Cole went with them because he could, and he liked feeling the way that people were banding together, helping each other against all misgivings.
When Krem did come back, Cole didn't rush to him. He was tired and Cole was busy helping with a restless baby who had been orphaned when her mother succumbed to her injuries. He went to Krem's room after the girl was settled, nicely asking the door to let him in and then locking it behind him and coming to sit by the bed. He'd wait until Krem woke up. There was no rush.
